Benefits
Paid Time Off
The hospital's Paid Time Off (PTO) plan is provided to encourage planning
and predictability of employee time off. PTO compensates you at your rate
of pay when you are absent from work for such purposes as vacation, illness,
holidays, health and dental care and other excused absences. All part and
full-time employees working eighty (80) or more hours per month participate
in this plan for non-working compensable time. Employees paid a premium
rate in lieu of benefits are not eligible for PTO.
PTO may be used as soon as it is earned except for new employees under
their 90-day introductory period. PTO may NOT be used in advance with an
agreement to reimburse the hospital and may NOT be used on regularly scheduled
days off.
Credit Union
Employees at Lower Umpqua Hospital have access to the Oregon First Community
Credit Union. Automatic deposit is also available. Contact the credit union
at 271-2145 for details.
Group Health Insurance Plan
Lower Umpqua Hospital offers a group health insurance plan. Upon employment,
if you work 80 or more hours per month, you are eligible for the program
sponsored by the hospital.
After three consecutive months of working a minimum of 80 hours per month,
you are eligible for coverage of medical expenses after a deductible. This
eligibility starts on the first day of the fourth month of employment. After six
consecutive months of working a minimum of 80 hours per month, you are eligible
for coverage of dental and vision care. This eligibility starts on the first day
of the seventh month.
Group Life Insurance Plan
Lower Umpqua Hospital offers a group life insurance plan to part and
full-time employees. The hospital pays 100 % of your life insurance premiums.
Additional life insurance annuities are available with employee contribution.

Pension Plan
The purpose of the hospital pension plan is to provide long-term security
and an improved retirement lifestyle for employees who have met the participation
requirements and have retired.
Lower Umpqua Hospital provides a pension plan for its part and full-time
employees who have attained their 21st birthday but are not over age 60
at time of hire and have at least one year of continuous employment with
the hospital.

turning, lifting and transferring residents. Position requires on-going
walking, bending, twisting and reaching. Must be able to read and write for

Qualifications: Must know or be willing to learn the fundamentals of
cleaning in a hospital or nursing home in order to meet infection control
standards. May be responsible to unpack and pass clean linen/laundry to
units and pick up dirty linen/laundry from the units. Must understand and
practice good body mechanics. Must have good flexibility and upper body
strength. Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop, twist, reach overhead and
function on your feet for the majority of the shift. Must be well organized
and able to prioritize work and handle emergency requests in a pleasant
manner. A positive attitude with initiative is essential. Must pass drug
screen, physical capacity screen and criminal history check.
