Lower Umpqua Hospital maintains open visiting hours. We ask that late
visitors keep noise to a minimum so as not to disturb other patients. Family
members are welcome in the Obstetrics Department at any time.
The admitting clerk has a list of nearby hotels/motels and restaurants
available for your reference, or you may locate local options through our
community links. Hospital cafeteria hours are from
7:30 AM to 6:30 PM and there are vending machines located on the first
floor.
Due to the known health risks of both primary and secondhand tobacco,
the Lower Umpqua Hospital campus is tobacco-free. The use of any tobacco
product, smoked or chewed, is prohibited anywhere on hospital property.
We appreciate your support in keeping Lower Umpqua Hospital a healthy
environment for all. (You can review the detailed policy here.)
Lower Umpqua Hospital is committed to the belief that healthcare encompasses
not only the physical illness of patients, but also the emotional, spiritual
and social aspects of their lives. This commitment is expressed in many
ways, including pastoral care to our patients and their families. Our chaplains
are available 24 hours a day for support. Your nurse can help you initiate
this service.
Visiting policy during flu season:
Our facility is meeting with our staff to assess the need for a visitor policy
and/or visitor screening measures. If the situation dictates the need for such a
policy, we will do everything necessary to educate and protect visitors,
patients and staff alike from the possibility of increased exposure to the H1N1
virus.
As we enter the flu season, this information may be helpful.
