Dr. Bertman graduated from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles Medical School in 1972, and interned at USC Medical Center, Los Angeles.
Dr. Bertman has experience as a family practice physician and emergency room physician, working in remote regions with no immediate backup support. He worked as a general medical officer for the Indian Health Service in Parker, Arizona, staff physician in Anchorage, Alaska, and director of the Emergency Department in Mammoth Lakes, California. Dr. Bertman is board Certified with the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
