Lanita Witt M.D.
Education and Training
Dr. Lanita Witt specializes in Urogynecology which is the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of conditions which affect the muscles and connective tissue of the female organs. Dr. Witt earned her MD degree at John Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. She completed an Ob/Gyn residency at UCLA Hospitals & Clinics in Los Angeles, California. She is Board Certified in both Ob/Gyn and Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery. In 2016, she retired after 30 years of practice in Medford with 18 years of subspecialty work in urogynecology.
Dr. Witt was born in the Texas Panhandle and destined to eventually be in Oregon after training on the East and West Coasts. She has been in Oregon for 33 years where she owns a 450 acre ranch with half mixed conifer forest and half wetland. On her ranch, she has a goat dairy, chickens and a vegetable production farm for the Rogue Valley Growers Market. As she puts it “after I retired from Providence in Medford in February 2016, what my mother said was true: ‘when you buy a farm, just keep your good job in town’. So off to do some service at Lower Umpqua Hospital.”
Dr. Witt will be providing surgical and non-surgical treatment of urogynecologic problems at Lower Umpqua Hospital and Reedsport Medical Clinic two days per month.
