Stan Adkisson, M.D.
Education and Training
Dr. Adkisson joined Reedsport Medical Clinic at Lower Umpqua Hospital District, providing Internal Medicine care to the residents of Reedsport and the surrounding areas. Dr Adkisson grew up on a farm in Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois with degrees in chemistry and biology. He received his medical degree at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr Adkisson and his wife Aleta, a home health and hospice nurse, moved to Oregon after practicing a total of 23 years in western Colorado. After so many years of the dry reds and browns of Colorado, they are deeply appreciative of the year-round greenness of Oregon. In his spare time, Dr Adkisson enjoys snow skiing, playing piano, traveling to visit his children, as well as walking on the beach and in the hills with his two retriever dogs.
