JOB SUMMARY:
The Public Relations & Community Outreach Director acts as a connection between the hospital and the community. The Director handles the advertising and publicity, represents the hospital in community forums, and organizes activities and events that bring the community to the hospital the hospital to the community. Also responsible for promoting the Partners in Care concepts throughout the hospital.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Writes news articles, press releases, and advertisements for the media.
- Website and Social Media content creation and updates.
- Creation of ad campaigns including print, media, etc. as directed
- Oversees billboard advertising and reader board postings and updating.
- Oversees website, coordinating updates, posting information, keeping it current.
- Creates and distributes the quarterly Partners In Care community newsletter and well as an internal monthly newsletter.
- Prepares and oversees departmental budgets.
- Participates in Grievance Committee Retention Committee, Events Committee, Comprehensive Quality Council and other relevant committees.
- Serves as the District Public Information Officer (PIO) for our Emergency Operations Plan.
- Networks with various community groups, attends community meetings when appropriate.
- Plans and participates in District events.
- Gives presentations for small and large groups as appropriate.
- Conducts internal and community surveys as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by CHRO.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and License:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field (or combination education and work experience), preferred.
Certifications:
None
Experience:
2-Years’ Public Relations in a Healthcare Setting, Preferred
Management experience, preferred

- Pleasant, outgoing personality for contact with the community, staff, and clients.
- Must be able to meet deadlines and pay attention to details.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with graphic design, newsletter and/or ad layouts.
- Experience creating content and posting on Websites and Social Media platforms, ie: Facebook, Instagram, etc.

- Able to network effectively with community groups.
- Able to facilitate groups and meetings.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works indoors in an office environment, occasional travel for meetings and training.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequent use of computer and phone, and other standard office machines. Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, twist, kneel, reach, push, pull using proper body mechanics and move/lift varying amounts of weight to a maximum of 50 lbs.
