JOB SUMMARY:
The Licensed OT Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care as determined by OTR, maintains records accurately reflecting patient care, and maintain high personal standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Adhere to Code of Ethics as outlined by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Provide direct patient care and therapeutic intervention per treatment plan developed by OTR.
- Have a good understanding of indications and contraindications of all modalities and procedures.
- Be able to accurately take necessary measurements and perform tests per OTR request.
- Record patients progress and report any changes to the OTR.
- Provide physicians with patient’s progress notes regularly.
- Participate in in-service and continuing education programs.
- Assist with maintaining adequate equipment and necessary supplies.
- Maintain records that accurately reflect patient care.
- Comply with hospital policies and procedures.
- Attend all in-service education programs as assigned.
- Be able to adequately schedule patients.
- Have a good understanding of billing procedures.
- Be able to adequately answer patient’s questions in regard to treatments.
- Maintain clean work areas and equipment.
- Assist with pulling charts.
- Maintain linen supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and License:
Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Hold a current License in the State of Oregon as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Certifications
Must hold a current First Aid and CPR card.
Basic Life Support (BLS)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works indoors in an air-conditioned rehabilitation gym/office environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequent use of computer and phone, and other standard office machines. Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, twist, kneel, reach, push, pull using proper body mechanics and move/lift varying amounts of weight to a maximum of 60 lbs.
