Above & Beyond Awards

We recently announced the recipients of the LUHD Above and Beyond Award for employees who demonstrate exceptional dedication, commitment, and performance in their role.

Employees were nominated by peers, patients, or visitors. Nominations included specific examples of how the nominee has exceeded expectations.

Congratulations to the Q2 Above and Beyond Winners!

Ashley House, RN

Clinical Informatics

There is not one specific situation that can be used to demonstrate how Ashley goes above and beyond at LUH. Her experience and knowledge has helped drive and improve many aspects of care across the entire district, both in the clinics and hospital. She has an unmatched knowledge for how processes work from start to finish across the full spectrum of care from an administrative standpoint as well as bedside care in both patient and staff needs. Ashley is always willing to work with any person across the district to help them improve their workflow and knowledge anytime they need assistance. She works hard with providers and support staff to help them understand the EHR system, the why of how things need to be done in it, and establish efficient workflows.
With the recent large upgrade to the hospital’s charting system, she went above and beyond coming in early, staying late and making sure every staff member who wanted extra time seeing the changes before they went into place got that time ensuring an very smooth update process and staff ability to use the system once it had been updated.

Deanna Prater BSN, RN, CPHQ

Director of Infection Control, Employee Health & Safety

Deanna exemplifies hard work. She always giving the best she can give to this hospital. She works hard, but is excellent at being playful. She is not above dressing up as a giant hand or fish or putting on some lederhosen and spreading immunizations throughout the district.
Nomination: I would like to nominate Deanna Prater for the Above and Beyond award because she is a constant example of someone that goes above and beyond in her position. She is the first person to volunteer to help out at any event and brings her creative talents to every committee she is involved in. The Employee Health Fair is the perfect example of an event that has every detail thought out, with donations, creative challenges, and employee involvement. Deanna challenges me to think outside of the box and as a colleague that’s exactly the kind of person you want on your team. Deanna’s leadership with both the DAISY and Thrive committees are more examples of how she brings so many great things to the District. I am so thankful that she is part of LUHD and believe she is very deserving of this recognition.
