LUHD and RCCS worked together to develop a semester-long course dedicated to exploring healthcare occupations and incorporating work-based learning experiences!
This program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for various roles in the healthcare field. Whether you’re interested in nursing, pharmacy, or health administration, this course provides invaluable insights and hands-on experiences.
Current Students:


Denise’s favorite subject is math and she enjoys participating in yearbook. Denise plays basketball and participates in track and field. She enjoys volunteering at blood drives and recently attended a summer camp hosted by Aviva Health where she learned about healthcare careers. Denise speaks English, Spanish and German. Her interests include hematology and oncology. She is looking forward to spending time in the laboratory. After graduation she plans to attend college.



Makayla has participated in volleyball, basketball and art club. She enjoys volunteering in Lakeside where her family resides. After graduation, Makayla would like to study nursing. Makayla describes herself as kind, caring and a fast learner. She credits her Mom with inspiring her to achieve her goals. She is looking forward to spending time with EMS and Surgery.



Chloe is an honor roll student and 2 sport athlete participating in volleyball, softball and a club volleyball team. She has maintained a part time job for over a year in her “free time.” She enjoys paddleboarding, doing nails, and rearranging her room. Chloe wants to pursue a career in Anesthesia and is excited for this opportunity to shadow through the hospital departments to help decide what her future holds.



Natalie participates in volleyball, basketball, softball and a club volleyball team. Her hobbies include fishing and spending time with friends. Natalie plans to go to college and study nursing. She describes herself as wild, caring and someone that enjoys doing laundry. She’s looking forward to all of the rotations in the course and excited for the opportunity to be in the hospital. Natalie says that her parents inspire her to work hard and achieve her goals. She is looking forward to spending time at LUHD learning about all aspects of healthcare.
